Trinity Park Conference Centre wins Regional Award
Trinity Park Conference & Events Centre and Hayward Architects have been recognised with an award from the Royal Institute of British Architects. The Centre was one of two prominent Suffolk buildings that were among eight in the East of England to receive the industry accolade, the other being the Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds.
Fifteen of the twenty nine entries received by RIBA East were shortlisted after judging began at the start of April this year.
“When investing in the building of the conference and events centre at TrinityPark, it was important to the Suffolk Agricultural Association that the centre was designed in such a way architecturally to be a landmark building making a positive statement about the Association” says Chris Bushby, Executive Director. “Evidence over the last two years the centre has been in operation has proved this to be the case. We are delighted with how well it has been received”.
RIBA Regional Director, Louise Todd, commented, “As a Suffolk resident myself, I was delighted to see that the Trinity Centre had achieved this prestigious RIBA Award – it’s a real tribute to the Association. There are very few facilities of this type in the area and it is great to see a forward thinking client put so much into the development of a new building that will benefit the public and businesses alike.”
All eight of the award winners will automatically be entered into the RIBA National Awards. These will be presented at the regional annual Spirit of Ingenuity Awards ceremony and dinner held at QueensCollege, Cambridge in September.
