The UK’s biggest retro festival series Let’s Rock have announced the incredible line-up for the very first Let’s Rock Ipswich, happening September 10, 2022 at Trinity Park.
Featuring headline sets from the iconic Adam Ant and electropop pioneers OMD, Let’s Rock Ipswich will also feature performances from ABC, Howard Jones, Heaven 17, Go West, Heather Small, Nik Kershaw, Toyah, Sonia, Living In A Box, Pete Wylie, Tenpole Tudor, The Art Of What?, Sydney Youngblood, Gibson Brothers, Sonique and Urban Cookie Collective. Let’s Rock Ipswich will be the final event of the Festival Of Suffolk 2022 celebrations which mark HM Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
A celebration of all things Pop and 80s, Let’s Rock offers gloriously unpretentious non-stop fun, with legendary artists performing hit after hit to a crowd of all ages. 2022 sees the return of a full schedule of fourteen festivals, which run all over the UK & Eire from late May to early September. Despite the tremendous difficulties they faced Let’s Rock managed to successfully host eight Festivals this summer. 2019 was the last time Let’s Rock were able to run a full summer of festivals and they attracted a total audience of over 150,000 across twelve locations. With the addition of two more festival sites for 2022, next years’ Let’s Rock promises to be the biggest yet.
Comment Let’s Rock organisers Nick Billinghurst and Matt Smith, “We’re absolutely thrilled to bring Let’s Rock to Ipswich next year as part of the Festival of Suffolk. It’s always exciting taking Let’s Rock to new places, and especially to such a beautiful part of the country. We hope you love it as much as we do!”
Mark Pendlington DL, Festival of Suffolk Chairman, comments: “Spearheaded by the Suffolk Lieutenancy, the Festival of Suffolk has over 70 partners who are working together to bring to life a host of events across 2022 and during the time of HM Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The Festival is designed to shine a spotlight on all aspects of Suffolk and Let’s Rock will be a fantastic and fitting finale to the county’s biggest ever community celebration.”
Tim Holder, Head of Public Affairs at Suffolk Community Foundation, adds: “The Festival team are delighted to be working with ‘Let’s Rock’ to align this huge occasion with the festival’s objectives to create a positive and ongoing legacy for the people of Suffolk.”
Phillip Ainsworth, Chief Executive of Suffolk Agricultural Association, says: “We are delighted to be working with the Lieutenancy and Festival team to bring Let’s Rock to our HQ in Suffolk. Trinity Park is the iconic event centre for the county with exceptional facilities which will help ensure the concerts’ success both next year and, we hope, for many years to come. It will become the most wonderful family friendly Festival finale!”
Let’s Rock organised three online festivals which drew an estimated audience of 3 million and raised £200,000 for the charity.
Let’s Rock! has been leading the way for quality, family-friendly 80s music festivals since 2009. Don’t miss out on this chance for a retro blast with the very best of the 80s!
