Suffolk Agricultural Association Education Initiatives

14 December 2018 |

Every year, thousands of school children across the county take part in the wide range of educational activities. One of the highlights is the annual School Farm and Country Fair held in April.

The 2019 education programme starts with Tractors in Schools week, which involves farmers visiting local schools with their tractor to talk with Year 4, 5 and 6 pupils in a fun and interactive way.  This is followed by the popular Grow Your Own Potatoes project, in March, which encourages pupils to learn how to plant, grow and harvest different potato varieties.

The annual Schools Show Garden competition, which this year is themed around Gardens of the World will be on display at the Suffolk Show, with the winner announced on Wednesday 29 May 2019.

Also judged at the Suffolk Show is the final for the Suffolk Farming School of the Year competition, the finalists will deliver a fun and engaging presentation about what they have learnt throughout the competition.

If you would like to be involved in any of these activities, please get in touch with the SAA’s Education Department. www.suffolkshow.co.uk/education
